Can we eat muesli without milk?

Yes, you can. Milk is traditional, but it isn’t the only way to make muesli work.
Some easy swaps:
- Curd or hung curd: a very Indian combination that adds protein and makes a good bowl for summer mornings.
- Buttermilk (chaas): for a lighter, slightly tangy version that you leave to soak for 10 minutes.
- Plant milks such as soy, almond or oat if you avoid dairy. Soy is closest to dairy milk in protein.
- Fresh fruit juice or water, the classic Swiss “”Bircher”” style: soak overnight with grated apple and a squeeze of lemon.
- Eaten dry, by the handful, as a crunchy snack, though portions vanish fast this way.
The one thing you lose without milk or curd is a good chunk of protein and calcium. If you go with water or juice, add a spoon of nuts, seeds or a little curd on top so the bowl keeps you full till lunch.
